NO SCHOOL on Monday. By the way, it's actually Washington's Birthday... not Presidents' Day... at least not officially.
ALL Book Reports and AR Tests are due Friday, Feb. 25. That's NEXT Friday! Reminders and progress checks were sent home with students today. They are completely up-to-date as-of this morning. Several students have less than the required six (6) Book Reports and/or AR Tests completed. Many, many weeks have transpired since our second trimester Book Reports project was first assigned on November 15, 2010. Including winter vacation, that was over 13 weeks ago.
ALL components for Biography Project #2 are due Monday, Feb. 28. We have now had this assignment packet in-hand for a full week of school. Many students have made good progress toward beginning their research and some have begun working on their first activity or their first draft. Please remember, per the assignment outlined in detail in the project packet, everyone must complete, at the minimum, the 400-600 word written biography and at two (2) of the activities. Students are encouraged to choose to do more than the minimum in order to ensure they get all 100 points. All components are due on the due date.
Permission slips for the upcoming trip to Phoenix to visit the Challenger Center on Thursday, March 3, are due to Mr. Kasch or Mr. Coe ASAP! Parent volunteers/chaperones who would like to accompany us are encouraged to contact Mr. Kasch.
FYI: I will be attending a professional conference in Phoenix on April 27-29. Mrs. Linda Evans will be subbing for me on those dates.
