In anticipation of our now rescheduled trip to Arizona Snowbowl on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, and in order to regain compliant and restrained behaviors from many of our students, beginning today, we will be instituting a three-strikes system of behavior accountability over the course of the next several school weeks.
The system is a simple way to empower students to become increasingly accountable for their behaviors both in and out of the classroom and, it is my hope, that none of our students will accumulate three strikes between now and the date of our Snowbowl trip. However, in the event that a student does receive three strikes before February 27, they will not be permitted to attend the ski trip with us. An alternate day of instruction will be provided for them at school that day instead. If this occurs, your pre-payment of $15.00 will be refunded to you.
Students will receive one strike for the following reasons (this list is non-exhaustive):
- Losing two Coe's Bucks during a school day for various misbehaviors that do no comport with our well-established expectations
- Being identified by name by a Specials (Art, Music, PE, Library) teacher or a Switch (Math, Science) class teacher for various misbehaviors that do no comport with our established well-expectations
- Receiving an office referral for various playground misbehaviors that do no comport with our well-established expectations
Once again, it is my hope, that none of our students will accumulate three strikes between now and the date of our Snowbowl trip.
I will inform you by telephone each time your child receives a strike during the school day.
